Eyebrow position plays an integral role in upper facial expression. Over time, changes in brow height or contour may influence facial balance or contribute to the perception of heaviness around the eyes. At Dr Honeybrook Facial Plastic Surgery in Brisbane, various surgical options are available to support aesthetic alignment and patient-specific goals.
This technique involves making small incisions within the hairline, through which a camera-assisted instrument allows for a subtle elevation of the brows and smoothing of the forehead tissues. It may be considered suitable for individuals with moderate brow descent and good skin elasticity. The approach enables structural correction with minimal disruption.
Focusing on the outer third of the brow, this method involves small incisions near the temples. It allows for a targeted lift in individuals with lateral brow descent and minimal involvement of the central forehead. It may be discussed as an option for patients seeking a modest improvement in brow position and contour.
Performed at the hairline, this technique allows for direct access to the brow and upper forehead region. It may be selected when addressing forehead lines, a higher hairline, or heavier brows. This technique can also allow for hairline adjustment in certain candidates.
The interaction between brow height and upper eyelid skin is carefully assessed. In some cases, combining brow elevation with upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) may help achieve a more balanced result across the upper face. The decision to combine procedures is made following a comprehensive assessment.
Please note that results and recovery may vary. Your suitability for each technique will be determined during consultation, based on anatomy, expectations, and relevant health considerations.
