How it’s done
Techniques vary based on factors such as your unique anatomy, brow structure, and involvement with the eyelid area. Dr. Honeybrook performs the procedure through tiny incisions beyond the hairline. Generally, the underlying tissues are accessed via well-placed, small, and/or hidden incisions beyond the hairline, and he uses a small endoscope to elevate the brow tissues. The brows are repositioned or elevated to restore a more natural, attractive, and open appearance. Lifting the upper eye region has the added effect of softening lines and wrinkles on the forehead. With excess and/or saggy tissues out of the way, our patients’ field of vision is also improved.
Supporting a healthy recovery
We will review how to prepare, what to expect during surgery, and how to care for the surgical sites afterward. Generally, patients can get back to their “regular” activities after around two weeks. Any swelling, numbness, and bruising should gradually disappear during that time. A follow-up is scheduled so Dr. Honeybrook can see how your incisions heal. It can take a few months to recover fully.

Dr. Adam Honeybrook
Dr. Adam Honeybrook is a specialist Australian Head and Neck Surgeon who is double Board-Certified in the USA in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He specialises in advanced surgical facial rejuvenation techniques and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
He obtained his medical degree from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He completed basic surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, and sat for the United States Medical Licensing Examinations. He trained at several renowned US hospitals, including Vanderbilt University Hospital and Duke University Hospital, and attained accreditation as a specialist surgeon.
Dr. Honeybrook completed his first Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the Ivy League institution, the University of Pennsylvania under the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He received another fellowship in Louisiana and became an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology.
He returned to Australia in 2020 to work as a specialist consultant surgeon at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He has completed multiple specialist examinations in the USA and Australia, conducted numerous research studies, and he presents frequently at national and international conferences on his techniques. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
