As the skin’s structural support degrades and the effects of gravity take hold, a formerly balanced appearance and open eye area can make way for droopy, saggy eyebrows. You may appear perpetually sad and angry and look older than your years as the brows sag southward. Plus, lax tissues in the eye can present vision challenges. The only US triple-boarded specialist head and neck and cosmetic surgeon in Australia to practice facial plastic surgery, Dr. Adam Honeybrook offers the browlift procedure among many advanced surgical techniques and technologies at his offices in Brisbane and Sydney. Dr. Honeybrook’s unique expertise in these precision treatments supports a pleasant experience at every step in the journey to align how you feel with the external face you put forward each day.
We won’t know if this treatment is right for you until after a thorough evaluation. During your visit, Dr. Honeybrook may recommend this procedure if you are unhappy with the position of your brows. It may also be a medically necessary service if you can’t see properly due to significant hooding and laxity that may affect your vision. It is also essential for you not to smoke, be generally healthy, and have a realistic outlook about your treatment results.
Techniques vary based on factors such as your unique anatomy, brow structure, and involvement with the eyelid area. Dr. Honeybrook performs the procedure through tiny incisions beyond the hairline. Generally, the underlying tissues are accessed via well-placed, small, and/or hidden incisions beyond the hairline, and he uses a small endoscope to elevate the brow tissues. The brows are repositioned or elevated to restore a more natural, attractive, and open appearance. Lifting the upper eye region has the added effect of softening lines and wrinkles on the forehead. With excess and/or saggy tissues out of the way, our patients’ field of vision is also improved.
We will review how to prepare, what to expect during surgery, and how to care for the surgical sites afterward. Generally, patients can get back to their “regular” activities after around two weeks. Any swelling, numbness, and bruising should gradually disappear during that time. A follow-up is scheduled so Dr. Honeybrook can see how your incisions heal. It can take a few months to recover fully.
Every patient’s experience is unique. Due to the nature of the changes that the office of Dr Honeybrook Facial Plastic Surgery supports, this procedure achieves lasting results. We can reset the clock, but we can’t stop it. You can do certain things to help maintain your refreshed look. Exercising, good sun protection, avoidance measures, good skincare, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can all go far toward making the most of your treatment. Schedule a consultation today.
